Class Schedule

* Tutaj BJJ opens 0:30 minutes before the first class.
The primary goal of the kids class is to teach not only Brazilian Jiu Jitsu but also motor skills, both general and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu specific. Brazilian Jiu Jitsu will also help increase athletic and self-defense abilities which will instill self confidence. At Tutaj BJJ we only use positive reinforcement. It is very important that the kids have a genuine love of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu so that it becomes a life-long pursuit of learning and self-development. Classes will be fun, informative, and beneficial for all who attend. Parents are welcome on the mats with their kids.
Takedown class will go over wrestling and Judo shots, sweeps, and throws. The stand up portion is very important for those who are interested in competing. Bringing an opponents to the ground safely while maintaining control is a difficult task. We will ensure that it occurs in a safe manor.
Fundamentals will go over the basic positions in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, and how to control your opponent and defend yourself in these positions. This is a very important part of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu that is often overlooked. Some basic submissions, defenses, and sweeps will be taught as well. There will be positional sparring at the end of class. Takedown classes are included with fundamentals programs.
Advanced will go over more advanced submissions, defenses, and sweeps. You must have 3 stripes on your white belt to attend advanced class. Takedown and fundamentals classes are included with advanced programs.
Gym gis are limited in sizes and quantities, 1st come 1st serve, for beginners only.
Open Mats are open to anyone with an intermediate experience level from any school. You do not need to be a member of Tutaj BJJ to attend open mats. A $5 mat fee is suggested for non members, although higher donations will help ensure that this open mat continues.
Everyone must sign a waiver before training. There are no exceptions. Anyone under 18 needs to have their parent or legal guardian sign a waiver AT Tutaj BJJ. We will check IDs.
$100 per month for kids class
$125 per month for fundamentals program
$150 per month for advanced program
3 month contract necessary with automatic payment plan with debit or credit card.
