When practiced correctly the Pilates Mat exercises uniformly develop the body, correct wrong postures, restore physical vitality, invigorate the mind, and elevate the spirit.
Elements of Pilates are similar to those of BJJ and include: Control, Centering, Concentration, Symmetry, Breath, Precision and Flow.
The Pilates Mat is part of a larger system called Contrology that was developed by Joseph H Pilates (1883-1968).
Cameron Jarrett has been practicing the Pilates Mat since 1994 and was certified to teach by Romana Kryzanowska in 2003. She is a Master Pilates Trainer and Teacher Trainer for Chicago-based FFC. Blue Belt with Tutaj BJJ.
